Recording Studio Technical Design

We specialize in studio technical design, off-site cable system manufacturing, on-site equipment & cable installation and complete system testing. If you are putting together a new recording environment, single room or multiple rooms, or expanding an existing facility, we can formulate a technical design to suit your requirements & equipment and present documentation in preparation for installation.

Equipment Integration

With such a wide range of products and equipment available to the recording professional, interfacing many different devices to form a completed system can be quite a task. We can take the guesswork out of the equation. If any commercially available equipment cannot handle a certain requirement, we often develop and supply custom equipment to suit client needs.

Technical Design Consultation

We offer technical design assistance and can offer equipment recommendations for your project.

Studio Construction Technical Consultation and Project Management

With new ground-up construction or existing facility expansion projects, it is an advantage to work closely with architects and contractors throughout the project to ensure no technical details regarding air conditioning, power requirements, grounding issues, cable access, equipment location logistics for example, are overlooked.

Studio Systems Cable Fabrication

We can fabricate all required custom cable systems for your project. Our off-site team produces all analog, digital, video, data, single and multipair systems ready for on-site installation. All work is documented and labeled accordingly.

Custom Studio Panel Metalwork

Studio microphone panels, credenza & rack panels are custom designed and fabricated for your specific requirements. From simple to outrageous in a multitude of finishes (we even did a set of panels in leather for one client) contact us with your requirements.

Complete On-site Equipement & Cable Installation

Our on-site team will install installation cable systems and equipment, connect it all up, test the system and then hand over the keys ready to go!

Studio Techical Servicing

We are proud to say that after we have completed a project, our clients always call us when they need new equipment installed, upgrade or simply blow something up and need help. If you have an existing installation that needs assistance, please call. Grounding issues are a specialty.

Patchbay Systems

We design, fabricate and install all patchbay styles and associated wiring. Whether you need a single 96 point TT patchbay hardwired to TRS or a 14 patchbay system wired to a separate termination panel and patch to console multipairs – we can help.

Recording Console Installation & Commissioning

If you require a recording console to be relocated into a new or an existing installation, split and prepared for shipping, or put back together and functionally tested and repaired ready to go – please contact us with your requirements. We have safely shipped and received many large-scale consoles worldwide.

Solid State Logic Approved Service

We are proud to have Solid State Logic as one of our clients and we offer installation, commissioning and servicing for SSL 4000/6000/8000 E & G and 9000J & K series consoles.

Console Upgrades & Modifications

Many of our team have extensive SSL experience and we can upgrade, undertake frame size reductions, enlargements, remote patchbay modifications to factory specifications.

Active DI Systems

We manufacture a series of custom electronically balanced active Direct Inject systems to transform low level noisy unbalanced audio signals such as keyboard/midi module/drum machine/sequencer outputs into much more desirable clean balanced +4 signal with major improvements to sonic quality.

We began building and installing these into our studio systems many years ago, and the demand from numerous artists, producers and engineers who had used our studios and loved the sound of the DI units, prompted us to make them available as user equipment.

We now offer many variations including 24 channel units in  1 rack space ( 8” deep) with numerous front/rear panel connections and ground lift capabilities, and separate +/-18.65v linear power supplies. We can also supply these configured for balanced inputs and outputs if you require a balanced buffer or distribution system for any audio application.

24 Channel 1U Rack space Active DI with front panel 1/4” unbalanced inputs and ground lift switches, rear panel 90 Elco balanced outputs wired to European/Amek, Harp or your custom pinout requirements. Also shown is our power supply unit.

Here we have two of our standard 24 channel front 1/4” inputs/rear Elco balanced output units and a version that we call our permanent installation module. This has rear panel unbalanced inputs and balanced outputs on either 25D (DA88 standard), 56 or 90 Elco and is primarily intended if you have a console that just won’t tolerate any unbalanced input. We have installed many of these in studios and touring rigs with large midi/keyboard setups, where the equipment is wired directly to the these units, and the balanced outputs are sent to console user patchpoints, line or mic level inputs. Clean, great sonic clarity and buzz free.

If you have restricted available rack depth, a remote located front panel version is available.

Here’s a photo of our +/- 18.65v linear power supply module. One power supply can run up to five 24 channel units quite happily – each DI unit has a power input and power thru link to daisy chain units together.

This is a small 8 channel floor or counter top unit with integral power supply.

For some applications, a permanently installed unit may be suitable. We manufacture this and other custom styled housings for 8 channel to 48 channel applications.

Complete Custom Services

Many of our clients sometimes have crazy ideas of developing custom equipment that is not available commercially or combine recording systems into ultra small compact units for travel use and normally, and generally, no one in their right mind would undertake such a task. That’s where we come in. Here’s a small sampling of some of our more unusual projects.
